In cases of non-compliance by the faculty member, the Sabbatical Leave Committee will review the circumstances and may suspend the Sabbatical Leave. If a suspension is imposed, the faculty member must return to work within 15 calendar days from the date they are notified of the suspension.
Interruptions Beyond the Faculty Member’s Control
- a. If the host institution is unable to continue with the planned program, the faculty member must return to Tecnológico de Monterrey within 15 calendar days from the date of interruption. If the interruption occurred within the first 30 calendar days of the Sabbatical Leave, the faculty member may apply again for a future Sabbatical Leave.
- b. If, due to health reasons, the faculty member is unable to continue with the planned activities, the recovery period will not be counted as part of the Sabbatical Leave. The faculty member may complete the leave once they are able to resume their activities. To do so, they must submit supporting documentation to the Sabbatical Leave Committee, including approval from both the host institution and the corresponding School.
Cases of Non-Compliance
The following situations constitute non-compliance:
- Carrying out activities that were not authorized, to the detriment of the approved deliverables.
- Failure to achieve the approved objectives.
- Receiving payments or sponsorships that were not reported in advance to Tecnológico de Monterrey.
- Committing serious misconduct that compromises the reputation of Tecnológico de Monterrey, including actions contrary to the Institution’s Code of Ethics, principles, and values.
The Sabbatical Leave Committee will request that the faculty member provide a written explanation of the case. If the Committee decides to impose sanctions, the decision will be communicated in writing to the faculty member and their supervisors. The resolution will become part of the faculty member’s official record, and they will lose the right to apply for a future Sabbatical Leave.
Any cases not covered by these regulations will be reviewed and resolved by the Sabbatical Leave Committee.
